Giovanni Bellini, an important painter of the late 15th century, was a contemporary of Leonardo da Vinci and is known for his softer, rounder forms in contrast to the more rigid lines of Gothic art. His delicate compositions had a profound influence on Quattrocento art and were a key inspiration for the design of a luxurious building project by Armentano Arquitetura in collaboration with MCAA Arquitetos. Located just 500 meters from Ibirapuera Park, the building features a concave façade that extends toward the park, with a floating balcony that seems to embrace the space without visible supports.
The design combines references to classical architecture with the exuberant curves of Oscar Niemeyer’s buildings in the park. The fully glazed façade ensures expansive views of the park, while the striking geometry and rigorous composition of the structure, with columns and a tripartite vertical division of base, body, and crown, allude to classical architectural canons. The apartments were designed to make the most of the views, with spacious social areas facing the curved side of the building. The internal layout, symmetrical and functional, establishes a dialogue with classical references by dividing the space between service areas and suites in a harmonious arrangement.
