P518

In the municipality of Amontada (CE), the Aracatiaçu River forms the Ponta de Moitas as it flows into the ocean. Between the point where the river meets the sea and Praia de Caetanos lies Ponta de Icaraizinho, the site that will host P518. This project is an extension of the relationship that began with the design of the Carmel Taíba Resort—awarded in 2024 as one of the best luxury hotels in Brazil by Travellers Choice—whose interior design is by the firm. The Carneiro de Melo family’s hotel chain has chosen to deepen its partnership with Armentano Arquitetura, entrusting them with the architectural design of the new hotel to be inaugurated on the Ceará coast.

The architectural proposal aims to blend with the terrain and the surrounding nature. Volumetrically, the horizontal layout of the buildings and the frequent use of setbacks eliminate the intention of creating an architectural landmark. On the contrary, the structure allows the lush vegetation that surrounds it to take center stage, dissolving into the landscape. The building's materiality reinforces this approach by valuing artisanal knowledge, utilizing rustic elements, and drawing on vernacular construction techniques.
